Fish tanks are cuboid aquaria in which water dwelling plants and animals are kept or exhibited, with at least one transparent side. Gallon fish tank has the capacity to hold gallons of amounts of water. Keeping a fish tank was more of a hobby before and now it has become more of a luxury. The baseline for any ideal aquaria lies in the nearness of the aquaria to the standards of the natural ecosystem. A well balanced tank will have a healthy prey-predator relationship. Care should be taken to balance the ecosystem with organisms that are able to metabolize the waste products of other organisms in the aquarium. An ideal aquarium should be a replica of natural marine ecosystem. Not surprisingly, this criterion is very hard to meet with. To reach anywhere near perfection, the aquaria must be huge and hence the need arise for gallon fish tanks. The large volumes of water will help maintain the balance of the ecosystem. But even a single disturbance that perturbs the system will shake the equilibrium. Any systemic shock to the system can be diluted by the huge volumes of water. If a fish dies in a 5 gallon U.S tank, it may affect the ecosystem a little. But the same case does not occur in a 100 gallon U.S tank. That is, the larger the volume of the fish tank, the lesser the impact. Hence hobbyists all around the world prefer gallon fish tanks, which are able to hold huge amounts of water, to smaller tanks. The added advantage of gallon fish tank is that need for attention is very less as the ecosystem will remain more or less stable even if something hampers with the equilibrium of the ecosystem.
